I Will Never Forget Her Words

I Will Never Forget Her Words

I love this statement, “Things are not falling apart … things are falling in place.”

Corrie ten Boom is one of my heroes. I only got to be with her one time. When she spoke to us about her experiences in the Holocaust she would often look down while she talked. She did this because she was always working on a piece of needlepoint. After telling her story of the cruelty in the German concentration camps and the death of her father and sister, Corrie would hold up the needlepoint for everyone to see.

The backside of her handiwork was a jumble of colors and threads with no discernible pattern. With this came the observation that “this is how we see our lives.” She would then turn the needlepoint over to reveal the intended pattern visible on the front. Then Corrie would conclude by saying: “This is how God views your life and someday we will have the privilege of seeing it from His point of view.”

I have never forgotten her words!

Open Doors

The days since Session finished in Baton Rouge have been filled with opportunities to speak, teach, preach, invest time in appointments with new leaders and write for various online platforms. Our new Leader Faith Forum has launched successfully in St. Bernard Parish. The new Jefferson Parish Faith Forum is about to launch. I was able to spend an afternoon teaching followed by Q&A with the Concerned Women for America Gathering. I also had the honor of bringing the keynote talk at the annual Covington Prayer Breakfast. Pray for my ministry in Los Angeles coming up. I will be speaking on God’s Work in Government. The Israel and Egypt trip is right around the corner. Opportunities to work with Parliament & Faith to encourage chaplains in national Capitols are continuing. The work of Capitol Commission is multiplying in other states. We give glory to God.

The victory bells have rung … a pillar of faith is home.

My friend Brent Alderman has served for years as the Maryland State Minister/Chaplain with our Capitol Commission ministry. Brent was faithful in being Jesus’ hands, feet and mouth to Maryland legislators and staff. Well done Brent Alderman. “Precious in the sight of the Lord Is the death of His saints.”

Pray for Brent’s wife Tracy and daughter Megan. Also, would you pray for God to raise up the next Chaplain in Maryland. I know some of you can make a few recommendations. My Maryland friends …  I need your contacts. The leader needs a heart for God and heart for the State leaders. Brainstorm with your friends and churches. Who might God call and use?

Michael
