GOVERNOR’S PRAYER BREAKFAST
The 2025 Governor’s Prayer Breakfast was inspiring and God honoring from start to finish. This annual event is non-partisan and is led by citizens of Louisiana who join together in a time of prayer for the leadership of our state which includes the Governor, the Legislature, and all state and local elected officials. Its purpose is to seek God’s guidance for all leaders and citizens of our State and to strengthen ourselves for the journey as we try to live as a responsible community of faith. It is an interdenominational event centered on the person of Jesus Christ as the Savior of the world and is intended to promote His glory.
The keynote speaker this year was Will Graham, the grandson of Dr. Billy Graham. He shared the gospel and 20-30 hands were said to have been raised in response. We are grateful for all the legislators, state-wide officials, sponsors, Governor, Senator Cassidy, Representative Julia Letlow and community citizens who gathered to seek God and ask for His strength, wisdom and guidance. Psalm 119:46 says, “I will also speak of Your testimonies before Kings and shall not be ashamed.”

CAPITOL BIBLE READING MARATHON
It was special to be able to preach on the Capitol steps and participate in the Bible Reading Marathon that took place day and night for four days, a full 90 hours, with Legislators, pastors, children and adults taking turns reading through the entire Bible.

HOPE HOUSE
You know him as the actor, Dr. Mark Green of ER and Goose in Top Gun, but Mr. Anthony Edwards still lives and has become an advocate for children who have experienced sexual assault and abuse. He shared his personal story of being groomed, abused and raped as a 14-year-old. He said 1 in 6 boys are abused in our country. His message was compelling, and he left us all wanting to be part of the solution, especially through the work of the Children’s Advocacy Center Hope House. It was an honor to attend and pray at the Hope House Champions for Children Awards breakfast. The Hope House is a community treasure working to end the cycle of child abuse in our community and provide healing hope to those who need it.
