Last month I shared with you about my trip following the WWII story through Europe. On the last evening, I attended the play Hamilton. As you remember, Vice President Aaron Burr challenged Alexander Hamilton to a duel and killed him. At that moment, I got a text stating that an American Leader had been assassinated.
The next day we flew home, and I resumed my ministry to leaders. I had a meeting with the Speaker of the House, 20 plus Representatives, a Senator and others. There was a large law enforcement presence, metal detectors and snipers positioned on the rooftops. I couldn’t miss how life had changed over 12 days.
The next day I spoke at an event for community leaders. My topic was, “navigating the polarization of our times.” A Law Enforcement Officer had to individually check us in at the door. Things had changed in 12 days.
However, at the meetings I also noticed how many leaders boldly spoke about Jesus. Things can change a lot in 12 days.
Evil, darkness, light and truth are real. These things are clashing. Light will prevail. Across our country, Americans are recognizing they need Jesus Christ. Many are realizing we need to get our vertical relationship right with God before we can make significant progress in our horizontal relationships. God can heal a human heart and put people, marriages and communities back together. How I pray for another great awakening.
In 12 days, a lot can change. The impossible can become possible. Let’s work together for the common good and serve God in our generation. As Esther said, “For such a time as this.” Heaven is watching. History is waiting. May all glory go to God.
