Capitol Commission Louisiana 2024 Year-End Newsletter

I start this year-end letter with the Doxology:

“Praise God from whom all blessings flow; Praise him, all creatures here below; Praise him above, ye heavenly host: Praise Father, Son, and Holy Ghost.”

I am filled with gratitude to God, His favor, His goodness, His provision and for our friends who pray, encourage and support us in the endeavor of reaching leaders for Jesus and the Kingdom of God. Thank you, Lord Jesus!! Thank you, dear friends.

Fourteen years of ministry are almost in the history books. How time flies. I hope you track with us through the monthly newsletter or daily on social media to keep up with the deeds of the Lord. I can assure you God is working in the Louisiana Capitol and among leaders across the state. I will never forget the elected leader who came up to me and said, “You would not know this because you have not been here for decades like I have. In the old days, many legislators used to drink too much and chase skirts at night, but today the average legislator attends a Bible Study and goes home to his family at night.” I do not know the depth of truth of that statement, but it was like he was saying, “I am glad you are here. Keep doing what you are doing.” The winds of the Spirit are blowing. Please pray for our work among leaders.

You might not be as aware, but Capitol Commission is bigger than just Capitol Commission Louisiana. Capitol Commission has a ministry in over half the states. We have witnessed:

  • The Lord transform many lives through His Word.
  • Advancement into five new states: Nevada, Oklahoma, New Mexico, Wisconsin, and Alabama and into the National Capitol in Zambia, Africa.
  • 1,300 plus legislators attend Bible studies in twenty-eight states.
  • 50,000 Bible studies given to government leaders.
  • We have witnessed government leaders and staff turning to seek the Lord in 2024. Thank you for partnering with us.

Thank You

You have sacrificially partnered with Donna and me for years now to serve God’s Kingdom purposes. You have prayed, supported and encouraged us so we can minister to leaders with biblical values and our hearts. Out of caring for a leader’s heart comes relational equity to be considered their friends. These trust-filled relationships require empathy, time and consistency. Eternal fruit often flows out of extending God’s friendship to leaders. We are seeing Jesus’ impact on one of the most important mission fields. Thank you for strategically making this work possible and for your many years of friendship with Donna and me. It is a joy to work with my friends to help new friends meet Jesus in a vital way. We love you and pray God’s best for you and your family.

Financial Update

As a faith-based ministry, I am required to raise all my support. The core of the ministry has been supported by people making monthly commitments to GRACE ADVENTURES, and this has been supplemented by one-time gifts. I am grateful for God’s provision.

Merry Christmas to You

Christmas is upon us. It is hard to believe that 2025 is only a few weeks away! These last few years have been difficult for so many. We have rejoiced with those who rejoice and hurt with those who have been hurt, sick, grieved, or experienced loss.

Donna has continued her service with the Crisis Pregnancy Center, teaches an on-going Bible study, leads a mentoring ministry to young moms, and plays a major role with Capitol Commission.

Our family wishes your family a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

“For unto us a Child is born, Unto us a Son is given.” Isaiah 9:6
