NERVOUS?

Then let God be God. Presidents will come and go. Administrations begin and end. Elections are won and lost. Political parties ebb and flow. Nations rise and fall, but the Kingdom of God is unstoppable. Our King cannot be voted out of office or term limited. He is not worried or biting his nails. He changes times and epochs. He removes Kings and establishes Kings. He is overall and bestows leadership to whomever He wishes. My hope is not built on parties or candidates but in the Lord. My confidence does not rest in “What if?” but in the One “Who is!” We will vote soon but more importantly we vote every day with our lives, our compassion, our love, our faith, and our actions. I vote most of all for the One who is utterly trustworthy for all other ground is sinking sand. Here I stand optimistic, confidant, hope-filled, expectant, and betting the farm on God.

OPEN DOORS

God is on the move. I see it almost every day. Since I have Bible Studies everyday of the week but Saturdays, I am seeing the power of the Word of God to change lives. The stories of life transformation inspire and challenge me. Earlier in the week I had a gang banger tell his story of a radical encounter with Jesus just a few months ago. In the same meeting I had a successful businessman and a jet fighter pilot talk about their respective Jesus encounters. This morning, I met with elected leaders and business professionals to talk about how our decisions impact life, legacy, and our eternity.

A long-distance mentor of mine senses that the conditions in our country are much like they were at the beginning of the Jesus Revolution in the early 1970’s. I cannot predict the future but I declare Romans 1:16, “For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to everyone that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.”
