The Fingerprints of God – Answered Prayer

Special Prayer Request

Donna is scheduled for a knee replacement surgery on July 23. Please pray for her and the medical team. The constant bone on bone has caught up with her and it is time to go bionic. Pray for the rehabilitation time as well. Thank you.

The Miraculous Stolen Ministry Suitcases Saga

Donna and I just finished eight days of ministry at the Officers’ Christian Fellowship White Sulphur Springs Conference Center in Pennsylvania. Our focus was to teach military officers and families about the person of Jesus Christ and how to share their faith in these turbulent times.

OCF is an extraordinary organization that builds Christian military leaders, families, fellowships … for a lifetime. We met many of our nation’s choice leaders at the intersection of faith, family, and vocation. Officers who serve at West Point, the Naval Academy, Pentagon, and those returning from overseas assignments, active duty, retired and from across the country participate.

These are quality folks … national treasures. We were blessed to have Marines, Army, Navy, Air Force and Coast Guard! These Military Officers and their families sacrificially and devotedly serve our nation. So much has been asked of them in recent years. Pray for refreshment for these military folks and for the ministry of OCF.

On our way to the Conference Center, we had a crazy situation in which my two suitcases filled with all my handouts, teaching notes, and resources to teach nine times over eight days were stolen. The police were notified. We searched the town where this occurred, which included some dumpster diving. It was an impossible situation, but eventually we had to drive the remaining three hours to get to White Sulphur Springs to teach that evening. Before we left, Donna bumped into two strangers walking their dog and told them briefly about our plight. We left “Betting the Farm on God” asking people to pray for the impossible.

That same evening, we got a call from the young couple Donna bumped into. The woman was driving in another part of town and saw two suitcases beside the road. She called her fiancé and he told her to grab them. These were our suitcases! Her fiancé had just seen a social media post that my brother-in-law had posted on a neighborhood bulletin board and he contacted us!

Nothing was missing from either suitcase. What a bummer it must have been for the thief to steal from a preacher and discover not jewelry and money but sixty-five pounds of material about the love and holiness of God!!! We are thankful for all who prayed, and we thank God for answering prayer in such a unique way. We could not miss His fingerprints.
