On Wednesday, September 23, from 7:00pm–8:30pm, our Capitol Commission Ministers from across the nation will present our unique, non-political ministry, which serves inside America’s state capitols, during an evening at Forcey Bible Church, 2130 East Randolph Road, Silver Spring, Maryland.
I need your help inviting others and helping to get the word out to churches and the community in the Maryland, Washington, DC, and Northern Virginia region. Will you be able to help me?
Our Capitol Commission chaplains and ministers from states across the nation, as well as Zambia and South Korea, gather annually for training, fellowship, and encouragement. This year we will gather in Maryland and Washington, DC, during our nation’s 250th celebration year.
My colleagues from about 30 states and our National Office leaders will share inspiring stories of Kingdom work. A panel discussion will allow you to interact with us. Come and hear what God is doing in the sphere of government and learn more about our unique calling.
Please invite groups, church friends, neighbors, and family members to this free event. Many people only hear bad news about government. You will hear good news stories of transformed lives and the proclamation of truth.
Fall Kick-Off
School is back in session here in our area, and that means the fall schedule of events is launching, including election season. These are serious times for doing the public’s business and, also, what I call “silly season,” as it is open season for exaggerations and attacks.
All of this means there is a key place for the work of Jesus to be done: calling people to a Kingdom perspective and encouraging them to live out the way of Jesus.
An influential leader’s wife caught me the other day and asked me to please remind people to pray for the spouses of elected leaders and candidates. Often, it is challenging for spouses and children to bear the weight and burdens of public life and the ugliness that inevitably comes with unfiltered comments and attacks on social media.
I told her I would call people to pray. Please help me.
