For the past six weeks I have been working with a team of six others to plan a New Orleans Faith Movement called, “HE CHANGED MY LIFE.” The “HE” is Jesus. Here are the reasons this movement exists:

  1. To spark conversations
  2. To give resources and encouragement
  3. To give a springboard to share your own story
  4. To connect you with other believers in your community
  5. To create a simple way of spreading the good news of Christ

Next month we will be launching this movement and I will share how each of you can be involved. The secret … it will only take 4 seconds of your time to make a difference. I’m not going to give away the details, but I would like to ask a bunch of you to pray over the next 30 days that whatever God directs in this movement will ripple to hearts and minds across our community and country. The exciting thing is that teenagers, children, seniors and everyone one else can contribute four seconds of time. Stay tuned and please … would you join me in prayer.

Legislative Session Finally Ends in Baton Rouge

The Legislative Session in Louisiana wrapped up last week and certainly it was historic. There was a pause in the middle of the Regular Session for COVID reasons and then a resumption followed by a Special Session. Many days the halls of the Capitol felt like a ghost-town. The normal hustle and bustle of throngs of constituents and citizens invading the “People’s House” was non-existent. Often it seemed like there were a couple of Committee Meetings, nine lobbyists, three citizens and me. Many bills were pushed off to the future and only the essential things were voted upon.

The Legislator’s Bible Study and many one-on-one times with leaders were a joy. It is amazing how a crisis can bring people together. I have met many new freshmen legislators. I thank God for leaders who first and foremost seek first the Kingdom of God. One legislator kindly dropped me a note saying, “Genuinely grateful for you. Thank you for making yourself available. Your encouragement is invaluable…” It is always a joy to work with our Louisiana Leaders.

With all the negativity, here’s a little something sure to make you smile.

Time with My Grandson at age 4

Poppy – “Jesus made the sun.”
Grandson – “How did He do it?”
Poppy – “Jesus just spoke, ‘Let there be a sun.’
Poppy – “Jesus made the stars, also.”
Grandson – “How did He do it?”
Poppy – “Jesus just said, ‘Let there be stars.'”
Grandson – “Jesus … Make me a HOUSE!”

Oh, the faith of a little child … or a future prosperity preacher, lol.

Highlights of the Month
